Honey Pear Soap

Yesterday I made a lovely honey pear soap with my neighbor.

It’s a creamy ivory and light green, and I baked it at 170 degrees for 3 hours and then held it overnight for 11. I’m waiting for my neighbor to come see how to cut it. Even though cpop (cold process oven process) soap is supposed to be ready immediately (rather than 4-6 weeks if you don’t do the oven process), I’ll wait a few weeks before using it . . .

But I couldn’t wait and cut a piece myself . . . the scent is definitely a keeper.  Fragrant honey and pears — how can you go wrong?

  • The combination of honey and pears sounds fantastic! I love the light aqua color too 🙂

Do you share this recipe? I would love to try making it.

Hi Erin — this was one of my first batches of soap and I have to confess, I don’t have the recipe anymore. It’s also a complicated process where you should use goggles and gloves and handle lye, so it’s best to know how to make cold process soap by having someone teach you, or do a lot of research because you can be seriously injured if you don’t know the process well. Sorry – does that make sense?
