I Saw Pioneer Woman

I saw PW — I really did, from kinda far away, but still, I heard her talk to hundreds of people today — mostly women and children . . .

Here is my ticket.  I got to the Tattered Cover at 1:30pm for her 2pm signing, and naively (because I have to admit I don’t really follow or get too impressed with famous people, I tend to get more impressed with the people I run into all the time . . .) thought that I would possibly be one of maybe 100 people, and get a chance for her to sign my cookbook, chat for a minute or so . . .

Boy was I wrong.  I was #347.  PW can sign about 100 books an hour, so I was destined to be milling around TC until almost 6pm, at which point I’m sure her eyes would have been glazed over . . . and so my daughter and I went home.  But I’m still thinking about it.  She’s probably still there signing . . .

Anyway — it was really cool to see a famous blogger in real life.  I’d do it again, except that I’d get there at 8:30am like the ladies who drove up 6 hours from Texas just to see her.  Isn’t Oklahoma closer to Texas than Colorado?

Let me give you some advice.  If you think you’re going to see PW, get there early.  You don’t want to miss this opportunity. She’s like her blog, funny, unpretentious and unique!
