I’ve been storing my jars in the living room on the two bookshelves next to the tv. But that’s not the best place. Besides, I have filled the bookcases and now a high table with more jars, and soon jars will be taking over the coffee table and then perhaps the couch . . .
The best place for storing canned foods is in a darkened, dry and cool place, and the optimum temperature is from 50-70 degrees. It gets a bit over 70 degrees in the living room, and it certainly isn’t dark there.
So while I enjoy looking at the beautiful colorful jars, it’s time to put them away so that they will last at least a year. But first, one parting glance:
